Officer training, learning about NOAA, basic seamanship, firefighting, navigation, and first aid are all part of the basic officer training located at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.

For approximately three months, NOAA Corps recruits participate in a very demanding and fast-paced program.
