Selected E- Learning courses are approved for meeting promotion standards prescribed in NCD. Officers who have already completed USDA continuing education units to satisfy the minimum training requirement will not be required to fulfill additional requirements from the E-Learning course list. Alternatively, if the officer has not completed the required courses for promotion, they will have the option of completing a module of on-line E-Learning courses that have been pre-selected to satisfy the requirement.
- In the future, OCMD is researching the possibility of developing a more leadership competency based continuing education program. E-Learning courses that most closely identify with leadership competencies under the newly implemented leadership development framework will be researched and tested for content and technical feasibility. The eventual goal is that these courses will provide officers additional activities in order to close the gaps in leadership development.
