Our First Weeks in Review
|
|
The first week of our stay
at Kings Point in BOTC touched on many areas as the class makes its transition
from civilian to a NOAA Corps officer. The classroom lectures covered our
mandatory paperwork and moved into introductions of all of the subjects
being covered in our BOTC training. The second week started us with shiphandling,
nautical terms, tides, charting, navigational aids and personal survival.
Then, this week was our first tour aboard the training vessel T/V Kings
Pointer along with line handling and knot tying.
